Is your cat stressed?

The image of a kitty happily curled up sleeping on a sunny windowsill is a vision of cozy comfort.  Cats are very independent and appear to live life without a care or worry.  Despite their carefree demeanor cats can feel, and react, to the stresses of everyday life.

Stress affects everyone at times, even your kitty. They can react by exhibiting rebellious, feline behavior.  Some become destructive, clawing at curtains or chewing on electrical cords. Others may resort to overeating, excessively munching on dry food resulting in stomach upset or obesity.  A usually friendly kitty may become anti-social and hiss, bite or scratch when approached.

If your cat has become destructive or anti-social stress my be the culprit.  Does kitty have a special place to call their own? Cats like to climb, they like to be cozy and sometimes they just want to be alone.  If there is a sunny window or beam of sunlight on the floor your cat will probably find it. A perch in a sunny window is especially inviting. Whether it be a spot on the couch, back of a chair or a place on the windowsill, designate that area as the place your cat can enjoy.  When there are other pets in the household it is especially important that kitty has a special place for some uninterrupted rest and relaxation.

A happy content kitty will gently knead with their paws and purr, especially on a soft, fuzzy surface.  To make kitty's favorite spot extra soft and cozy treat your feline friend to a Kitty Comfort Mat.  Kitty Comfort Mats are decorative hand knitted mini-blankets that can be put anywhere cats like to sleep. They are the perfect size for a seat cushion, back of a couch, windowsill or perch.  Fully machine washable, they protect the surface it covers and can be easily cleaned and maintained.  Available in a variety of colors, sizes and styles, Kitty Comfort Mats can fit into any decor.  Custom orders are also available.  Please visit for additional information or to place an order.
